Sam has a logical and detail-oriented style to his work. He will take on board multiple points of view and adopt a fair approach when assessing costs and claims. He has over 10 years of experience in civil construction as a quantity surveyor. He has worked in New Zealand and the UK and brings strong technical knowledge of highways, tunnelling, and wastewater.
Sam has developed an extensive portfolio of skills as a quantity surveyor throughout the project life cycle, from planning & feasibility, through to procurement, compiling and managing contracts during construction and post-construction cost negotiations. He has also gained valuable experience in contract management using NEC, FIDIC and NZS contracts.
“I’m a Senior QS, and I do this because I enjoy the never-ending commercial challenges that arise during construction. I tend to enjoy the mathematical and contractual problem-solving that is required for my role.”
Sam is proud to have been part of the Central Interceptor project as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, and also proud of his work on the Hunua 4 Watermain Section 11 project, where he was responsible for managing the project design costs, procurement and monthly claims to the client and from the subcontractors.
