Simon Kemp

Simon’s role is based on the contracting side of construction. Early in his career, he worked on a variety of construction jobs in the upper North Island before going to the UK. There, he initially worked as a QS on historic structure projects before moving to projects in the infrastructure sector.
                                                 
Simon returned to New Zealand in 2020. He was engaged on the Central Interceptor for a period, before working on a water treatment plant and a number of projects at Auckland Airport.

His career highlights to date include working on High-Speed Rail 2 in West London and the construction of a new water treatment plant for Hays Creek Dam.

“I enjoy being an engineer, as we can be part of solutions to improve the environment for the present and future generations.”

Simon seeks to understand the bigger picture before making project decisions and emphasises the importance of relationships and clear communication channels. He is currently working towards becoming a chartered engineer.
